First up, travelling to the East, we have Chan BBQ! With more than 20 years of experience, customers find themselves coming back for more. Their most famous item on their menu without a doubt is their Sambal BBQ Stingray ($22.40). Every stingray is placed on banana leaves before grilling, to enhance the aroma. It is then topped with a generous amount of fiery-red chilli paste! With a squeeze of lime, it is all ready for you to savour!

Customers have expressed how fleshy huge and fresh the stingrays are here. For an extra kick of spice, dip it with the extra sambal chilli given. Here at Chan BBQ they offer a variety of other items on their menu including spicy kang kong, cockles and spicy sotong. So if East Coast Park is too inconvenient for your travelling, order your BBQ cravings in with Chan BBWQ here!

2. Leng Kee

(Bukit Timah Market & Food Centre,#02–144)

Travelling to the West now, we have Leng Kee. If you’re craving for some chicken wings, they’ve got your back. Taking it traditional, the chicken wings are grilled over charcoal fire. This results in a crispy honey glazed skin with juicy tender meat. Marinated for hours the skin has a nice slightly savoury taste. You can get in pcs of 2, 4 or 6, with 2pcs of BBQ Chicken Wings at only $2.40. To enhance the flavours, squeeze the lime for a sweet and sour taste and dip it in the chilli for some spice!

Another must-try is their satay (20 pcs for $17.90). Pick your preference between Chicken, Mutton or Pork. Leng Kee’s Satay promises solid chunks of well marinated meats and evokes a smoky taste from the grill. Get you chicken wings and satay fixed here.

3. SHIO

(Yishun Park Hawker Centre, #01–42)

Next stop, North side! Here we have Michelin recommended, SHIO located in Yishun. New to the hawker business , SHIO only recently opened in 2020 amidst the pandemic.

If you’re looking for a hearty meal. Their specialty is their Nasi Lemak. SHIO’s Nasi Lemak with Grilled Pork Belly ($12.20), the rice here is cooked with coconut milk that gives it a delicate aroma, accompanied with crispy roasted peanuts and ikan bilis. Many have mentioned the need to accompany it with their honey glazed, smoky chicken wing for a perfect pairing! So, get their 5pcs chicken wings at only $15.40. If you’d like something more charred and succulent, pair it with their satay. What a SHIO-k meal to end off your day! Get yours here!

4. Guan Kee Seafood

(Newton Food Centre, #01–53)

Finally at our last stop, no worries South side, we’ve got you! Guan Kee is your go-to if you love seafood and to our Muslims, it is halal-certified as well! Offering a wide range of bbq seafood dishes from crabs, omelettes, stingrays, sotongs and so many more.

Guan Kee’s BBQ Stingray ($21.20) is the winner for its thick and fleshy meat. It has a great balance of flavour and it packs a spicy punch yet tolerable for anyone. As it barbecued on a banana leaf, it gives off a distinct smokiness that produces another layer of flavour. You’ll also be served chinchalok and lime juice on the side which helps to neutralise the spiciness and gives off a hint of tanginess. Get your BBQ seafood cravings here!
